I was lucky enough to take a nice walk with my family on the greenway today and thought I’d share a picture…. gotta love turtles!

I get asked all the time how I got started photographing kids and Kelly W is the answer :-)

Many of you may know that I have been a hobbyist photographer since I was in high school and I LOVE to photograph scenic areas, travel, flowers, still life etc….. but a couple of years back after I took some photographs at our MOMS CLUB fire station tour and after seeing a shot I did of a mutual friends son…  Kelly asked me about taking pictures of her kids.  I was so nervous that I was going to totally flub them up.. but they are some of my all time favorite shot to date!  Thanks Kelly for motivating me to try a new area of photography and for displaying your beautiful photographs all through your house!

My first EVER photo session:

What can I say other than this little boy was a complete angel! I know he gave his momma a run for her money just before they arrived but what would motherhood be without that diaper explosion just before you leave the house… in your brand new outfit…. that you got just for pictures!  One day mom – you really will laugh about that… maybe just not yet!

Check out this sweet little angel

Some people just have such a great energy about them that makes you just happy to be near them.   I just fell in love with the Korvink family.  Do you know what I mean when I say that you could just “feel the love”?  They are such a wonderful and fun family and I can truly feel the love they have for their sweet sweet baby girl!

Oh and I am TOTALLY serious about doing another session with them and her husbands VW Van!  They said it’s blue like Filmore in the movie CARS!  I can’t wait!

So it’s not very often that I get to see our good friends “then benton’s” but not only did I get the chance to hang out with them all recently… I had the opportunity to take some wonderful photographs of their gang. We miss you Ryan and Kerry and hope you move back soon!
