Welcome to Charlotte “H” family! I hope you find it to be the warm and friendly city I feel that it is! I hope you had a great move from TN and hey – you are still close enough to visit quite often right!
I was great to meet you and welcome you and your family to the “Queen City” with a fun family photo session! Here is a preview of our session from last weekend!

Meet Cole – I don’t need to tell you just how handsome he is….. you can see that for yourself! He is my little “model” friend and I always love it so much when his mom brings him around because he is so easy to photograph and boy does he have the BEST clothes! If you know me at all then you know that I am a HUGE sucker for styled portraits and for anything to do with hats and scarves! I think I scare people sometimes because I am always telling them to bring hats and scarves to their fall sessions because I truly feel it adds that extra umph to photos – gives them a bit more personality and style! Well needless to say….his mom knocked it out of the park for me in this area!
I have only had a chance to proof a small few so far as I have been busy taking school photos at Anami Montessori this past week but I promise I will have more up soon!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One last thing (ok… maybe more than 1)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Thank you all so much for a wonderful year! It is through your loyalty as wonderful clients that I have been able to give the gift of memories to 4 wonderful and deserving families this year! What does that mean? It means that they received not only complimentary sessions but also prints and or a disc of all their images to keep and cherish! Thank you!
- I am completely book for 2009.
- I will be offering a limited amount of spring sessions in March/April and then I will be taking time off from the end of April until August. Why you ask? Well…………….. we had a big shock and we are expecting baby #3! Yes… I can’t believe it myself…. I will have three kids! Yikes! Our new little bundle is due to arrive May 1st. Wish us luck!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone for all the wonderful comments and prayers for Ellie and Grace and Team Potvin! As you may have already read… after this chemo/treatment the Dr.’s are only giving Ellie a 10% chance of survival. Heartbreaking to even think about!
Well the girls are turning 8 at the end of the month. As you can imagine… this birthday is very special to them and their family as they do not know if Ellie will be with them this same time next year. If you feel compelled…. here is a link to donate to their celebration. http://www.giveforward.org/EllieAndGraceTurn8/
Thank you again for all the love and kind words but most of all the support you have shown the Potvin family! All of your kind and caring hearts make me believe even more in miracles!
XO
Carrie
Just wanted to post a few more of Ellie and her family. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
It’s not often in your life that you have those “moments”. Moments when you think to yourself…. I was meant to meet this person. This person will always be a part of my life and my life is better, from knowing her/them/him. Well that “moment” happened to me this weekend.
I was contacted through a friend about the Potvin family. I was told about their terrible struggle. I read their caringbring site and just cried.
Amy is living every mother’s nightmare. Everyday since I read their caringbridge site I have thought of them and now that I had the GREAT GREAT pleasure of meeting them…. I think of them even more. I try to image how Amy is feeling right now. I just can’t image the whirlwind of emotions surround something so surreal as the possibility of loosing your child. Your twin child. The nauseous feeling that must follow you day in and day out. The feeling of being helpless to protect your baby. The anger. The despair. The hope.
I’m not a big “writer” and most of my words are probably ”>misspelled but I really felt that I wanted to share “Team Potvin” with you as they have touched my heart and my soul……………………… and they NEED A MIRACLE. For those of you out there who believe in miracles too – please keep them in your heart, your thoughts and your prayers.
Meet Ellie.
Meet Grace
Ellie and Grace are 7 years old.
They are twins
They love to sing
They love barbies
Ellie is battling Stage IV Cancer
Ellie went back into the hospital today because her cancer has returned
Meet Team Potvin
What a beautiful family! Look at all the silly things these two girls came up with!
Did I mention that the girls like to “rock out”? Well of course we had to get them some rockin fun gear (that seriously looks like it came straight out of the 80’s…… what can I say….. wasn’t everyone a Madonna fan at some point in their life?)
GO TEAM POTVIN
Know a family in need? Photographers helping in their community through Celebrate Life
I am please to announce that I have joined up with a new and local charity organization called Celebrate Life
The Celebrate Life project was started by Angela Shea Photographyin January of 2007. It was begun as a way to give back to the community. It started as a challenge to take an active roll in the lives of the people that surround you. To give a lasting gift, one that transcends the difficulties we experience in our lives…the gift of memories.
How it Works
It is very often that we come across people in our community who are going through something in their lives. Whether it be sickness, financial difficulties, recovery, a birth that has overcome great odds, an adoption or other hardships.
Celebrate life is a way for these families to be able to document this time in their lives, whether it be to leave behind memories for those they love or to commemorate a happy and joyful time.
Images that we take mean more than just a time and a place-they are a celebration of our lives.
” If these pictures have anything important to say to future generations, it is this: I was here, I was young, I was happy and someone cared enough about me in this world to take my picture.”
-Mark Romanek
Celebrate life is a challenge to you to nominate your friends and family or those around you who are deserving of such a celebration. To take an active roll in the lives around you and notice the beauty in one another.
All Nominations will be considered. Only a few Nominations per year will be chosen for the Celebrate Life sessions.
Meet the “G” family. They just adopted their third child…. baby “A”. I met “mom” last year when I was taking preschool photos for Providence Presbyterian Preschool (and I will be back again in the spring of 2010!) when she happen to mention that they were making this wonderful addition to their family. I thought it was so wonderful of them to not only adopt one child into their lives but 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! Good for you guys! Oh and did I mention that they only had a couple weeks notice with baby “A”! Talk about rolling with the craziness of life! How beautiful! This little cutie would melt anyone’s heart!
