A dear friend of mine that I miss terribly inspired me to put this collage together. Many entryways, doors, windows and paths from our travels through Europe. I’m hoping to add more images to this as I find lost photos from my computer crash…for now though….here we go :
Yep – that’s right. I have a piece that is going to be in a real life gallery! I while back I entered a photo into the 2009 Nature of Mecklenburg Photo Contest and Juried Exhibition (you may remember me posting here about it) and although I did not win… I got picked by the sponsors at a “Sponsor’s Merit Pick” and my image will be displayed in Shain Art Gallery here in Charlotte. If you would like to come out and join us at the reception – it will be Friday September 18th at 7pm.
We are back from Germany and home for a couple of weeks before we head off again to visit my family in Indiana. Well I say visit but it’s really to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday… Yay!
Just a quick heads up that believe it or not… it’s almost time to start thinking about booking your fall photo sessions if you want photos for Christmas/Holiday cards.
I will put up a calendar in Aug. as to what days I have available. My kids will be in sports this fall so I will be limiting session and only shooting two weekends per month (I also have to leave some room for rainouts etc).
Also… I will be introducing some new “Collections” that I have been working on and a few product updates so stayed tuned!
In the meantime, here are a few photos from our recent journey to Germany:
My fun husband
Me and My hubby in Ernst Germany
Ok – this last photo I must explain… our waitress asked us if we would like “matches”. I told her no … I’m good thanks. She said “they are free, it is matches festival tonight” so I thought, then said… “sure”………what the heck, I can use some “matches”……needless to say… I did not expect this to arrive in front of me. In Germany, matches=sardines. I’m sure I have misspelled this but I swear she said “matches”
Just a quick note to let you all know that I will be in Germany from Thursday the 11th of June returning late on the evening of the 16th. I will respond to any emails, phone calls etc when I return. Here is a little peek at one of the places we will be staying…..it’s a REAL Castle!
Be prepared to be overwhelmed by posts and pictures of Germany when I return…. whoot whoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited to share with you that I just sold a beautiful collection of 4 photos from a series I did while visiting my parents in Indiana. The wonderful lady who purchased them is having them framed in these unique old barn wood frames that are simply beautiful! I can’t wait to see them hanging on her wall! Deborah is just moving here and is a fantastic Interior Designer (I mean she chose some of my stuff so of course she HAS TO BE AWESOME!). Here home is to be included in the Charlotte Home show this fall! I can’t wait to see the collage on her walls. I promise to go take a picture of them once they are hung and post it back here, but for now… .here are the photos she chose.
Nomow – what? Ok. Nomow…. it’s just what it sounds like…. an arificial grass system that you don’t have to mow!
Why am I talking about grass? Because one of my photos featuring the beautiful Ms. Audrey was purchased by AshcroftCreativeDesign for the cover of the Nomow brochure that will be distributed all over England! Hurray! How exciting is that?
Here is a demo sample (not the final image) of the brochure:
A couple months ago I was the second shooter at this wonderful couples wedding and since the holiday season was so busy for me…. I am just now getting back to editing some of their photos (I posted a few a little while back with them under the umbrella) so I thought I’d share a few more:
There are very few things that I can say have ever had an addictive “pull” on me……..
But the “Twilight” series of books is certainly my vice these days. It’s so silly since they were written for highschool girls, but hey…. when I read these books I FEEL like a highschool girl! Go ahead… make fun of me all you want, but ladies… if you haven’t read them… you are MISSING OUT on the best love story!
